Term 3 sharing time.

Many thanks to Cheryl and Greenpark School for hosting this workshop.
Tracey Harrold Dunsandel
I used audacity to record the news of the children voted by each buzz group. Then I took a still photo of each child and put it into movie maker with the sound recordings running underneath. Audacity is s free sound recording programme from the internet.
Anna Robinson Dunsandel
We used MovieMaker to show the Olympic Sports we had learned about. The children were involved in choosing the sports and deciding what the actions would look like. We shared this movie at our assembly - the children were thrilled with their movie and it was a blast to do.
Kirsty Burlinson Burnham
We have begun to use Word shark to create a specific programme for a child that is then able to be monitered and changed to suit the child.

Anna Wilson Burnham
We used comic life to write instructions on how to pack away our group box. The children took the photos of the different steps then the older children helped them to put the photos into the right order and write the instructions in the speech bubble.
Felicia Fee - Kirwee
We used comic life at reading time as a follow-up activity. The children had been reading plays and performed them in front of the class. The children and I took photos of the plays after they had performed them. Some of the photos were posed so that we had photos of all the scenes. During reading time they had a go at sequencing the photos for their play and adding in speech bubbles.

Margy Breen -Kiwee Model School
Margy has been using Comiclife with her reading recovery children, particularly with the Roaming Around the Known, the early part of the R.R. programme.
She has also been using PhotoStory3 to support her class parts of the Kirwee School Arts Celebration based around the theme of Water.

Alison Boon - Leeston
Alison showed an interactive powerpoint using sound and action buttons and the children took the photos.
Julia Raybould - Leeston
Julia shared a comic life collection of dinosaur pictures photographed and speech bubbles added.
Mary Cameron-Leeston
Mary shared an instruction power point to teach the children to insert a photo, a speech bubble, and words for the speech bubble into comic life and the results of the exercise.
Cherl Morrall
Cheryl shared three comic life videos . Having a multilevel Yr0-3 class
Cheryl has endeavoured to have every child contributing to the videos at the level they are capable of. Older children have taught the younger children how to make it work. Three of the videos have been made within the literacy programme, and are related to reading books children have been reading.A further video was made with children photographing and selecting pictures to use within the templates.
Kathryn West Melton
Kathryn's class has been participating in Book Backchat this term, having lots of fun discussing Piggity Wiggity Jiggity Jig and The Mad Tadpole Adventure and sharing our ideas with children from all around the country. The site is www.english.unitecnology.ac.nz/bookchat

Heather - West Melton
Made use of photos taken of 'happenings' in the school as motivators for writing - writing page created with photo, then story is modelled underneath, with children offering each letter/word - use data projector for whole class to see. Great for writing motivation/modelling, though the aspect of modelling correct formation is lost.
Karen Sinclair West Melton
Also used digital camera for writing motivation, specifically when we did a mini olympics. It was great! I have also been using the data projector, which is in my classroom to view the last school production for motivation and planning for this years. Also spent some time viewing 'Hector' the net security dolphin.

Like Heather and Karen I have been using digital photo's as a motivating tool for storywriting especially the visits from the Air Force helicopter and Lulu the calf.

A new resource that we have brought is the WALT cards linked to the numeracy stages - saves reinventing the wheel!!

Term 2 sharing time.

Many thanks to Tracey and Anna for hosting today's workshop. Thanks too to everyone for sharing.
Anna Dunsandel
Anna wowed us with her Inquiry unit focusing on Recycling and what to do with the rubbish. Anna used Moviemaker to showcase the learning journey. Awesome Anna.

Tracey Dunsandel
Dunsandel has an assembly certificate programme every week. Each class makes a certificate, for their award winner and add comments so the certificate is really personalised by the other class students. Tracey shared her class certificates and then showed some examples of the senior class certificates. A great vehicle for specific writing.
Tracey also has created a wiki for junior teachers and linked all the sites talked about today from the wiki. This wiki is an extension of today and a great place for a junior school learning community. An excellent idea Tracey
http://juniorsrus.wikispaces

Rachel Little River
Rachel showcased her blog http://room4lrs.blogspot.com Rachel has included some photos in Bubbleshare and a movie that she loaded so confidently.

Felicia Kirwee Model
Felicia attempted to show the Digiy store Shape and Number trains items she uses to support her maths programme. Sadly we believe tki was down as the sites wouldn't load.
Other people suggested they access digiy store from the Llnks through NZ maths.

Barb has won a grant from Ulysis and is creating a vegetable garden and sharing her learning and experience with the global community through her blog. Sorry Barb I didn't get the url for your blog down, can you get Fraser to add it here please.

Kathryn West Melton
Kathryn uses www.primary games.com for maths activites to support her numeracy time. The site gives positive feedback if the children give a incorrect attempt to a question.
Kathryn also uses www.starfall.com for reading ideas and activities.

Heather West Melton
Heather shared her class learning journey of Inquiry learning on Electricity, Switched on.
The presentation was made in Powerpoint and then printed off in a book so that the book could be used as a reading activity for the children. Heather also recommended this site www.kcc.org.nz as a site that helps support ideas to save electricity. Heather's class so what was an superb example of an Inquiry even down to designing the light monitor box.

Thelma West Melton
Thelma showed and talked about her Welcome to our assembly book. Her children had created the electronic version in Moviemaker, but because Moviemaker won't allow you to print out, Thelma then had to type all her captions into her printed book. We agree Thelma perhaps Powerpoint is the answer.

Cheryl GreenPark
Cheryl outlined the all the activities her wee gems were undertaking in their Inquiry on Carbon footprints. Cheryl has recoded her learning journey through her blog entries, and the way her children have taken the learning out in tangents examning other "gas" omissions.
