Olivia (Leeston, Year 4/5) showed comic life in use. Room 6 used this to present their Term 3 celebration to parents. The children worked in pairs. They had to think about template style, what information they are wanting to give the parents and appropriate wording as it needed to be kept brief.

I've been using YouTube and TeacherTube to assist with teaching more conceptual topics in class such as fractions or performing arts that would be difficult or impractical to teach a highly visual class. Additionally, as part of our Friday mornings, students have the opportunity to teach the class something they are passionate about. Most students use PowerPoint for this. Room 10 Leeston Year 3 Bronwyn
Presented comic life. This term our focus has been virtues.The children made up friendliness roleplays. They photographed each play then used these photos within comic life. Some year 5 children came across and worked with each group showing them all the steps, including text and colour. This worked really well. We need to revisit what makes a good photo and general visual presentation skills.
Melissa from Burnham presented comic life. The children have been looking at writing instructions for the term and were asked to create a comic life to show how to get ready for school. The children worked in small groups to make their comic life. It worked well. We also have experimented a little with photo booth!
Fraser from Kirwee showed some poems that had been written by children in his room. The children had used Publisher to insert a graphic and put a text box over top to write their poem in. He also showed some Pivot Stick Figure animations that children in his room had created to show an event in the Olympic Games.
Janey from Leeston School (Year 4) showed us some power points she had made on how to take good digital camera photos. She also showed us some power points on teaching fractions. Just another teaching strategy/tool to get the children motivated and engaged.
Olivia Brown from Leeston School, shared a Power point which her class had put together as a group. The Power point was one that will be used as a practice for the assessment of her Communication Unit. She showed us some attempts at Comic Life and explained how her class will be using it next term in their Written Language programme.

Fraser shared his class Moviemaker movie based around their Bad Hair Day dress up day. The children attempted to match photos and text together,

Following this her class used Inspiration to make a mind map based around the theme. The children then went to help year 2 children with their Inspiration.
Olivia showed her class animations created in Moviemaker. Olivia outlined all the critiquing that the students needed to undertake to develop their
"movie making" skills.

Karen shared her Inspiration Mindmap her children are working through. Each activity box was hyperlinked to different activities based around cells and
circuits. Karen uses NIE reading activities from the newspaper and uses the urls supplied to support her reading programme.

Krystal's students used a KNL thinking tool to brainstorm the things they knew about electricity and the learning they wanted to undertake.

Maree then talked about how the class all worked through the day to complete an individual Inspiration mind map each and print it out.
Maree also outlined her classroom management strategies to make all this work, for both the children and herself, without "going nuts".

Chris shared the have to’s she uses with Inspiration to support her Inquiry learning, She has set tasks placed beside the computer to help scaffold the
children learning and get to use the Inspiration tools.
Chris shared the class blog site that she and Amanda use to showcase the class learning. 2 chn each day showcase their learning.

Jo showed her KOS Photostories that her class have made. She began by working with the ICT chn first and they could be support people for the other
groups. Jo has placed her KOS movies on her blog and shared this with the school assembly, The presentation includes information gained from the web
Val Little River
Val showed the first imovie her class had made from their class trip to Living Springs. Her students are making movies displaying their camping experience.

Fraser attended the Marvin workshop at Learning at School. Marvin is virtual animation piece of software that allows children to create presentations.
He showed and described how one boy had picked the learning up very quickly and created a presentation on Diseases.
Fraser has also been learning along side his students using green screening techniques to over lay a picture over a background.
